Mayor Ulises Rodr\u00edguez has officially set the stage for the Santiago Carnival 2026, promising a month-long celebration that blends deep-rooted tradition with modern structural innovations. The festivities will take place every Sunday throughout February, culminating in a grand finale parade on 1 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor says this edition is designed not just as a party, but as a strategic engine for the North region’s economy and cultural identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The municipal government has introduced a comprehensive masterplan aimed at elevating the event\u2019s profile on both a national and international scale. A key highlight of this year\u2019s organization is the strategic partnership with Cervecer\u00eda Nacional Dominicana, which will provide logistical support and help expand the reach of activities centered at Parque Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carnival serves as a vital platform for economic reactivation, providing direct benefits to local artisans, vendors, and creative entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the launch, a special recognition was awarded to the group Las Marolas, honoring the artistic legacy of the late master Danilo de los Santos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaders from the iconic Lechones (Joyeros and Pepineros) groups have voiced their full support for the new organizational structure, ensuring the city’s folklore remains intact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
