The local cyclist Danielky Cede\u00f1o, representing Team La Romana, won the first stage of the 47th Vuelta Cicl\u00edstica Independencia Nacional. Twenty-four teams (11 national and 13 international) are participating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stages of the race cover 836 km throughout levelled and mountainous and urban lands from 24 February to 1 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cede\u00f1o, a native of La Romana, achieved the victory “at home” by finishing the 117-kilometer route from Santo Domingo to La Romana with a time of 2:13:58. He beat out Joseph Ram\u00edrez (Verrazano-Santiago) and James Schurman (City Bikes Miami) in a competitive finish. The stage covered Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, and concluded in La Romana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
