The plant is described as the first facility in the Caribbean capable of producing food-grade recycled PET resin. This milestone supports the country\u2019s circular economy goals and industrial modernization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located within the Zona Franca Quisqueya, the project is a collaboration between the Dominican company Diesco and the Honduran-based Invema Group. It is designed to meet the increasing global demand for sustainable packaging, particularly from multinational beverage corporations operating in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diesco, a prominent multi-sectoral conglomerate headquartered in Santo Domingo, manufactures packaging (Polyplas and Termopac) and beverages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new plant possesses the technology to process 124 million bottles annually, or roughly 1.5 million bottles per day, utilizing artificial intelligence for high-speed material sorting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond its 2,250 metric ton monthly capacity, the Renacer plant is a cornerstone of the country&#8217;s carbon reduction commitments, with an estimated saving of 36,000 tons of CO2 per year. The socio-economic benefits include the creation of 500 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect roles, many of which are in the collection and logistics chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government\u2019s support for this facility is part of a larger push toward &#8220;circular economy&#8221; legislation, which seeks to incentivize the reuse of plastic waste and reduce the burden on municipal landfills.
