The funds are managed by 5 pension fund management companies (AFPs). According to the Superintendence of Pension Plans, the AFP Popular and Scotia Crecer AFP account for 64.8% of all pension plan affiliates. <\/p>\n<p> The funds have been collected over a 6-year period. In December 2003, the fund was at RD$6.8 billion. <\/p>\n<p> Employees contribute 99.4% of the total to the fund. The funds currently represent 6% of the Gross Domestic Product.
