The landmark event saw hundreds of participants bidding millions for properties and luxury items previously linked to money laundering and organized crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proceedings were overseen by representatives from the Tax Agency (DGII) and the Comptroller General of the Republic, with legal oversight provided by a body of notaries and official auctioneers to ensure transparency and public trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asset inventory and high-profile links<br>A total of 143 assets were placed on the block, including 46 apartments, 13 commercial spaces, 11 plots of land, six houses, two aircraft, a recreational yacht, and a decommissioned tanker ship. The catalog also featured luxury goods: a Harley Davidson motorcycle, four vehicles, 49 watches, and 34 pieces of jewelry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, the inventory included properties formerly owned by notorious figures such as Jos\u00e9 David Figueroa Agosto and C\u00e9sar Emilio Peralta (known as &#8220;C\u00e9sar el Abusador&#8221;). The geographic reach of the assets spanned the national territory, with properties located in Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, Boca Chica, Juan Dolio, Bayah\u00edbe, B\u00e1varo, Cap Cana, La Romana, Barahona, and Ban\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bidding highlights<br>The session opened at 10:10am, starting with vehicles and motorcycles in various states of repair. This was followed by the sale of jewelry and watches valued between RD$9,500 and RD$100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Significant real estate transactions included:<br>\u2022 Boca Chica: Apartments in the Boca del Mar Tower I, valued between RD$3.85 million and RD$5.6 million, sold for amounts ranging from RD$4.5 million to RD$6.92 million.<br><br>\u2022 Ban\u00ed: 200-square-meter lots valued at RD$1.23 million sold for up to RD$2.44 million. A plot with improvements, originally valued at RD$1 million, reached a closing price of RD$2.86 million.<br><br>\u2022 Bayah\u00edbe: A furnished apartment in Cadaqu\u00e9s, valued at RD$6.25 million, sold for RD$8.02 million.<br><br>\u2022 Cap Cana: A plot of land appraised at RD$25.3 million fetched RD$32.5 million.<br><br>\u2022 Barahona: The South Beach Hotel was sold at its appraised value of RD$30.25 million.<br><br>In the National District and Santo Domingo province, high-value listings included a house in Arroyo Hondo (RD$3 million), apartments in Evaristo Morales (RD$7.4 million), and luxury units in Piantini and Naco valued at RD$8 million and RD$20 million, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavy machinery and aviation<br>The auction also featured high-ticket maritime and aviation assets:<br>\u2022 Falcon Aircraft (Series 190): Valued at RD$95.2 million.<br>\u2022 Cessna Aircraft (Series 500-0177): Valued at RD$18.3 million.<br>\u2022 Viking Princess Yacht: Valued at RD$46.5 million.<br>\u2022 200-foot Tanker (Scrap): Valued at RD$8 million.<br><br>Oversight and allocation of funds<br>Incabide director Manuel Oviedo explained that under Article 82 of Law 60-23, the central government determines the allocation of these funds. Proceeds are earmarked for public sectors such as healthcare, sports, education, addiction rehabilitation, and the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and crime spearheaded by agencies like the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 345 participants registered for the event.
