Trinidad &#038; Tobago is. Listin Diario reports that the Dominican government sources only 25% of all fuel from Venezuela. The purchases are made under the PetroCaribe agreement that allows for soft credit conditions. <\/p>\n<p> The DR purchases most of its propane gas and natural gas from Trinidad &#038; Tobago. Colombia and Mexico are also major suppliers of fuel. <\/p>\n<p> The newspaper reports that under the PetroCaribe agreement, the country has a quota of up to 50,000 barrels a day of fuel, with financing of 1% annual interest and 20 years to pay. But in reality, the DR purchases around 25,000-30,000 barrels of fuel from Venezuela, says Rafael Lopez, director of the hydrocarbon department of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. <\/p>\n<p> Overall, the country purchases 135,000-140,000 42-gallon barrels a day of a range of fuels (propane, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, avtur and fuel oil). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In contrast with the general perception, Venezuela is not the DR&#8217;s leading fuel supplier.
