In the 2011 championship taking place in Peru, the DR earlier defeated Japan 3-1. <\/p>\n<p> In the previous 2009 tournament, the Dominican Republic placed second behind Germany. Brazil was third. <\/p>\n<p> The Dominican Republic volleyball team then faced China (both 2-0, 6 points), losing a much-battled 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.
