Minister of Labor Francisco Dominguez Brito has confirmed that Thursday 26 January is not a holiday, and that Duarte Day will be celebrated on Monday 30 January. He explained that the legislation that aims to set 26 January as a fixed holiday date was still in the Congress, and therefore, Juan Pablo Duarte’s birthday celebrations would be held on 30 January, as reported in El Nuevo Diario. <\/p>\n

He also noted that the nation’s Independence Day, 27 February, would be celebrated on Monday, the 27 February. <\/p>\n
