The installation of beams on an elevated portion over the Las Americas Expressway will cause a traffic diversion from the Juan Carlos Bridge to the toll plaza every night from 11pm until 5am starting today Thursday 1 March until Sunday 4 March, according to the Transport Reorganization Office (Opret).<\/p>\n
During the time period, traffic will be diverted along the side streets of Las Americas. “A detour will be organized for vehicles traveling from Charles De Gaulle Avenue and Espana Avenue; for vehicles wanting to take the tunnel and for vehicles coming from the toll plaza to enter the Samana Highway and take the side roads,” according to Opret deputy director Leonel Carrascao.<\/p>\n
The elevated roadway is being built to provide north-south access to the Hipodromo V Centenario Avenue to the Las Americas Expressway in the north-southeast direction. “This is a solution that the Opret has evaluated for traffic coming from Santo Domingo East, which lacks avenues that cross the city in a north-south direction,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
