The foreign ministers of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Carlos Morales Troncoso and Laurent Lamothe, signed a joint declaration in Port-au-Prince yesterday Wednesday February 29, which establishes the priority issues to be dealt with by the Mixed Bilateral Dominico-Haitian Commission. The document brings together issues in the areas of trade, investment and tourism; immigration and frontier issues; security and justice; transportation and communication and the environment. <\/p>\n
The working plan includes the establishment of a regulatory agreement covering transport between the two countries, the revision and updating of the Customs Agreement of 1998 in order to facilitate bi-national commerce and the cooperation of the energy and tourism sectors.<\/p>\n
