Of these, 41% are 2,000 peso bills, up from 38% in 2010 and 35% in 2006. Nevertheless, El Caribe reports that the high denominations are not welcome in many businesses that often do not have change. RD$100 bills barely make up 5.3% of money in circulation, which explains the lack of small bills. <\/p>\n<p> According to the Central Bank&#8217;s third quarter statistical bulletin, as of 30 September there was RD$63,579 million in circulation, of which RD$26,140.2 million were two thousand peso bills.
