The Director General of Traffic from the Ministry of Public Works, Luis Estrella has announced that, as in previous years and according to the law, a series of preventative measures would be taken to prevent accidents during the holiday period, including a ban on heavy vehicles from the roads. <\/p>\n
These restrictions will apply from Monday 24 December at noon until Tuesday 25 at 10pm, and from Monday 31 December at noon until Tuesday 1 January 2013 at 10pm. Only vehicles transporting fuel and perishable foods will be allowed on the roads, providing they hold the required permits. <\/p>\n
He called on all drivers and motorcycle riders to drive carefully over Christmas and New Year, a period when there are almost always accidents resulting in loss of life and property. <\/p>\n
