Mining Weekly reports that gold mining company PanTerra Gold has announced it is on track to meet its production targets for the second quarter, as its Las Lagunas operation, in the Dominican Republic, is back to full production.<\/p>\n
The ASX-listed miner said that Las Lagunas was expected to deliver gold and silver shipments of between US$13 million and US$14 million to refineries during the second quarter of the financial year.<\/p>\n
A stepped increase in production was also expected in the third quarter of this year, after an upgrade of the agitators in the Albion oxidation tanks during June, says the company. The new, larger agitators should significantly improve the efficiency of oxidation of the sulfide slurry, and improve gold and silver recovery in the carbon-in-leach circuit.<\/p>\n
The company reports that revenue for the third quarter was expected to be between US$18 million and US$20million, followed by further increases in the fourth quarter, with continuing process optimization.<\/p>\n
