He toured the movie-making installations that are located at Km 64 of the Autovia del Este, in Juan Dolio, less than 40 minutes from Santo Domingo. <\/p>\n
Felipe Vicini, president of the board of Indomina, thanked the government for its support for the country’s film industry. <\/p>\n
The Dominican Republic facility boasts state-of-the art technology including a world-class water tank. The water tank is said to be the second largest in the world and has the most modern technology for filming<\/p>\n
Since the passage of the Cinema Incentive Law in 2010 the number of features being filmed locally has grown from four or five a year to 23 in 2012, of which four were for non-Dominican productions. Productions are expected to increase to 30 to 40 a year soon.<\/p>\n
