From the beginning of the year until now, the exchange rate for the dollar has been climbing on the spot market. On 2 January, the dollar was being bought for RD$40.22 and last Monday it was at RD$42.01, according to numbers from the Dominican Electronic Market. This is an increase of RD$1.79 and a depreciation of the Dominican peso of 4.2%. In the meantime, the sale of dollars went from RD$40.35 on 2 January to RD$42.06 last Monday. This is an increase of RD$1.71 and a depreciation of the DR peso of 4%.<\/p>\n
The Central Bank reported that the average price for buying dollars on the spot market was RD$41.77 and the sale price was RD$41.92. <\/p>\n
