At a press conference, DNCD spokeswoman Jacqueline Lamarche said that the DNCD president himself, Major General Julio Cesar Souffront Velasquez, had traveled to the area by helicopter but then had to make a two-hour trek on mule and on foot to get to the farm due to its extremely inaccessible location. The plants were between 10 and 12 feet tall. <\/p>\n
Souffront was accompanied by the attorney general for the province, Ramon Constantino and other members of the DNCD regional south-central division, commanded by Army colonel Rolando Hector Ymaya. The officers were acting on tip-offs about the location of the farm. <\/p>\n
