According to the Police, a crowd lynched and killed one man, and shot another, because they believed the men had mugged three young women, and robbed their cell phones and a wallet in Ensanche Ozama, in Santo Domingo East earlier this week.<\/p>\n
Anderson Daniel Mendez Restituyo, 23, died after being shot in the neck, whilst the man with him, Dickson Martinez Perez (Grembel), was shot in the chest. <\/p>\n
The preliminary Police report said that both men had been reported for theft two or three times, and that after they attacked three girls they escaped on a motorcycle and were chased by a crowd of people throwing stones. Witnesses said that then they heard gunshots and the robbers lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a parked SUV. <\/p>\n
They were taken to the Dario Contreras hospital where Mendez Restituyo died and Martinez Perez (Grembel) is being treated for his injuries.<\/p>\n
The Police have recovered the stolen cell phones and wallet and are continuing their investigations. <\/p>\n
