The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development has announced that the body of government official Rosalina Ynoa Gonzalez will be returned to the country on Friday, 2 August. Ynoa died on Wednesday, 24 July in Spain when the train in which she was travelling derailed, killing 78 other people. <\/p>\n
The Minister Temistocles Montas will head a high-level commission that will be waiting to receive the body at Las Americas Airport, according to the communications unit at the Ministry, Diario Libre reports today, Wednesday 31 July. <\/p>\n
The wake will take place at the Blandino funeral home on Ave. Abraham Lincoln in Santo Domingo and she will be buried at the Parque de Prado Cemetery.<\/p>\n
At the time of the accident, Ynoa Gonzalez was International Cooperation Director of the Ministry’s Analysis and Coordination Unit.<\/p>\n
She was the mother of four children and had travelled to Spain together with the deputy minister of International Cooperation, Inocencio Garcia, to attend a meeting of Cooperation Representatives, organized by the General Ibero-American Secretariat (SEGIB).<\/p>\n
With her official business over, Ynoa was traveling to Galicia to visit her sister. <\/p>\n
Yesterday, Tuesday 30 July it was revealed that famous former Spanish judge Baltasar Garzon would represent Ynoa’s husband Alberti Carela and her four children in a lawsuit against the Renfe train company. The Spanish press reports that the train company’s insurance company, Allianz Seguros would pay compensation ranging from EUR$1,500 to EUR$70,000 depending on the severity of the case, and that compensation for relatives of the deceased would be EUR$60,000.<\/p>\n
