These are: National District (pop. 2,193,046): 9 electoral districts, 44 deputies to be elected. Santiago (pop. 711,481): 3 electoral districts, 14 deputies. San Cristobal (pop. 420,820): 3 electoral districts, 8 deputies. La Vega (pop. 344,721): 2 electoral districts, 7 deputies. Duarte (pop. 281,879): 2 electoral districts, 6 deputies. Puerto Plata (pop. 261,485): 2 electoral districts, 5 deputies. San Juan (pop. 252,637): 2 electoral districts, 5 deputies. All other provinces will be considered as one electoral district. The electoral board also established that to qualify for an electoral post, the person needs to be either a native of the province or area or a resident of the area to represent.
