Forty people were injured and taken to the local public hospital and the Dario Contreras trauma center in Santo Domingo. The tragedy occurred on the floor above the Hollywood Cinemas, the main movie house in La Romana. At around 11 pm Saturday, the structure trembled and collapsed.
