President Hipolito Mejia will still go to Europe from 24 October to 6 November and he will concentrate on promoting investment in tourism, finance, agribusiness, energy, telecommunications and infrastructure. The President will travel to Spain (Madrid and Barcelona), England (London) and Italy (Milan and Rome). The announcement was made by Danilo Rosario of the Office for the Promotion of Foreign Investment that is coordinating the visits. It will be the first time a Dominican statesman visits England. International events permitting, President Mejia will accept an invitation from the King and Queen of Spain to participate in a conference sponsored by a foundation of former Soviet Union president, Mikhail Gorachev on 24 October. In England he is scheduled to be received by Queen Elizabeth.
