The President of the Dominican Dental Association (ADO) has called on the National Higher Education Council (CONES) to work with a special ADO panel to examine the operations and quality of the nation’s dental schools. Dr. Adolfo Rodriguez stated "there are dental schools that ought to be closed" due to inadequate equipment and unqualified instructional staff. Rodriguez added "there are many dental clinics that ought to be closed as well." Rodriguez said that it is "inconceivable" that a nation of 8 million should have eight dental schools, when "only four are needed."
