The decision could reduce by half the time it takes to regularize one&#8217;s status, according to Rom&aacute;n Medina Dipl&aacute;n, director of the Puerto Plata office of the law firm Russin, Vecchi &amp; Heredia Bonetti. The residency visa was a first step to apply for residence papers, and the red tape was handled basically by the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
