Hoy reports that economist Andy Dauhajre has left his post as advisor at the Central Bank. Dauhajre announced his departure while maintaining that he remains on good terms with Central Bank Governor Jos? Lois Malkum. Dauhajre?s foundation recently was reported to have received a large sum of money from the fraud-ridden and now defunct Banister. Dauhajre was also an economic advisor under the Fern?ndez government, but was very critical of the latter prior to joining the Mej?a administration.
\nDauhajre has played an important role in shaping economic policy, negotiations with international organizations, the securing of the sovereign bonds and in the ongoing discourses with the power generating companies.
\nDauhajre had been a strong supporter of the government signing with the IMF, alerting that not to do so now would bring rampant inflation.
