The Chamber of Deputies approved in first reading yesterday a bill that would prohibit the littering of streets, sidewalks, parks, public places and empty lots. The bill would apply to both ordinary people and "judicial persons," i.e., legally incorporated entities such as stores. The bill would impose a RD$500 fine or six days imprisonment or both on violators.
