According to Alem?n, ?The most important<br \/>\neffect of globalization, both in the countries that are net exporters of direct<br \/>\ninvestments, as well as the receivers of the investment, is the higher<br \/>\nunemployment and lower salaries for the untrained workers.? He went on to say<br \/>\nthat the only thing that happens when there is foreign investment is that the<br \/>\nproduct is produced with cheaper labor. Unfulfilled promises of prosperity will<br \/>\ncreate unrest and discontent among the population, he said. According to the<br \/>\neconomist from the PUCMM, in poor countries there is a tendency whereby many<br \/>\npeople, even those well trained, are skeptic about their possibilities of<br \/>\nascending the socio-economic ladder, and they turn to politics as their<br \/>\ninstrument of choice for obtaining social and economic wealth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Father Jos?
