The airport is located in the center  of Santiago, the country&#8217;s second largest city. With the expansion, larger  airplanes will be able to land there. At present, the airport&#8217;s principal  international connection is primarily provided by American Eagle that flies  to Puerto Rico. The construction works are expected to be completed by  July.
