Diario Libre reports that the public sector&#8217;s payroll increased by 10-11% in August alone. A governmental budget report published yesterday shows that, in real terms, the government is collecting less revenues. Last month, the government took in RD$4.6 billion and disbursed RD$4.4 billion for current spending obligations. Of this amount, the government disbursed RD$196 million to pay its debt with commercial banks, leaving a deficit of RD$24 million for the month.
