He said the high voltage of the underground electric network overheated the cables and caused the blackout. Power was suspended at the leading airport of the nation from 7:30 pm to 11 pm. AA flights from Miami and New York had to be rerouted to land in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Another AA flight had to land in Puerto Plata. And Iberia&#146;s flight to Madrid, Spain and another AA flight to New York were delayed.
