It was recently revealed in the media that some people were being charged up to US$40 by customs employees to get their luggage back. The subdirector of Customs Operations, Alexis Henr&iacute;quez N&uacute;&ntilde;ez, says that when they receive complaints of this kind and can prove them, the employee in question is fired. N&uacute;&ntilde;ez assures users of Dominican airports that the administration will not tolerate violations.
