The Dominican Republic stand at the Foire de Paris, a leading European arts and
\ncrafts fair held in the Porte de Versailles exhibition hall of Paris won first
\nprize in the category Tropical Lands Pavilion last week. The Dominican stand
\ncovered 150 square meters and the theme was a Dominican village, with Victorian
\nhouses from where 12 Dominican artisans exhibited their crafts and a Dominican
\nrestaurant offered Dominican culinary delicacies. The Ministry of Tourism
\nreported that the Dominican stand was the most voted by those who visited the
\ntrade show. Among the participants were: Manuel Gomez Bolos (Arte Bolos),
\nRamieses Nelly (Amborigena), Rosanna Antigua (ArtWork), Cristina Nunez (Xthina),
\nRamon Guillen (Nonu Guey), Miguel Pimentel (Formato), Miguel Estrella (Talleres
\nEstrella), Ana Josefa Sanchez (Puerto Plata Amber Museum), Celina Sosa
\n(Arelisa), Jorge Caridad (Santo Domingo Amber Museum), Juan Puello (Artesania
\nPuello) and Rafael Alba (Modus).
