This year’s Dominican Republic Jazz Festival is being held at two venues: first at the Centro Leon in Santiago and then at Cabarete Beach in the province of Puerto Plata.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, 25 November, the festival opens with a 3:30pm chat on jazz by John Benitez, Ramon Vazquez and Adolfo Faringthon at the Centro Leon in Santiago. It continues with sound checks from 4-5pm, Miguel Andres Tejada Trio at 8:30pm and John Benitez Quintet at 9:30pm.<\/p>\n
On Friday, the festival changes venues to take jazz lovers to Cabarete beach, with a 3pm master class by Marco Pignataro, John Benitez, John Benitez Junior and Ramon Vasquez. At 4pm, the focus is on the Pina Duluc Project, at 5-6pm sound checks, and then at 8:30pm Sandy Gabriel Group and 9:30pm Danilo Perez Trio.<\/p>\n
The Jazz Festival continues on Saturday evening, again at Cabarete Beach with a workshop at 11am by visiting Marco Pignataro, John Benitez, John Benitez Junior and Ramon Vasquez. This is followed by inspiring closing concerts by up-and-coming musicians, starting at 12:30pm. Listen to New Way to Jazz, Tripptikk, Ocean Jazz Quintet.
