The Santo Domingo Cluster is managing the gazebos at the soon to be opened Plaza Guibia. The new recreation area located in the centrally-located city coastline park is opening Sunday, 20 November. City Mayor Roberto Salcedo said the agreement is for the Cluster to reimburse the municipality with 30% of earnings from the rentals. Salcedo says the agreement ensures the sustainability of the new recreational area. Plaza Guibia will have a sand court for beach volleyball, free gym area, bike path, and public space for concerts. 16 closed-circuit video cameras have been installed to enhance security in the park. <\/p>\n
The park area is expected to follow the successful operation of the Plaza Juan Baron, further to the east on the Malecon.<\/p>\n
