The Second Tribute-Fair to Nature in Jarabacoa with Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera and singers from the Dominican Republic including Pavel Nunez, Roldan and Cheo Zorrilla, is a benefit to help farmers and the community of Los Dajaos, through funds raised by the admission fee and purchases of food, arts and crafts. The event showcases the region’s ecological, tourism, agricultural and cultural attractions with an emphasis on creating awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Funds will be used to improve community infrastructure, including roads, a new school, the clinic and a new medical center, and prepare for a sustainable tourism ecological center with a restaurant. Organized by Fundacion Loma Verde, the Sunday, 18 March event is a repeat of the memorable First Nature Fair held 15 years ago. Jarabacoa is less than two hours drive from Santo Domingo or Puerto Plata. The all-day event, scheduled to be over by sunset, has the support of farming organizations in Los Dajaos and Manabao, and the Universidad Agroforestal Fernando Arturo de Merino (UAFAM) in Jarabacoa. <\/p>\n
