Hundreds of people enjoyed the weekend of “Adventurate 2013,” the first sustainable tourism fair held in the Dominican Republic, on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March. The event was organized by the Dominican Tourist Competitiveness Consortium (CDCT) as a way of providing a space for small and medium-sized Dominican tourism companies to show off what they offer. The fair was held in the grounds of the National Botanical Garden in Santo Domingo. Exhibitors included boutique hotels, eco-lodges, rural housing, cultural excursions and adventure trips. The event also featured gastronomy and crafts from several parts of the country like San Jose de Ocoa and Bonao. <\/p>\n
The fair also provided networking opportunities for participating business owners. <\/p>\n
