As reported in El Dia, during the period, credit card payments in the country increased from RD$96 billion to RD$146 billion. This means that for every RD$100 consumers spend in the purchase of goods and services, RD$5.5 of that amount was charged to a credit card.  The peak periods for local credit card transactions are May (Mother&#8217;s Day) and December (Christmas).
