High tide has reduced the sandbank to a minimum, reducing the attraction for hundreds of tourists who visit to snorkel around the coral reefs. <\/p>\n
The suspension of excursions is expected to be a temporary measure until the sandbank returns. The high tides are attributed to lunar changes. <\/p>\n
Ministry of Environment provincial director Carlos Finke said that excursions would resume once conditions improve. He said the measure had been taken with visitor safety in mind. <\/p>\n
