In an unusual statement for the usually-reserved controller of the Mejia administration, Lalane Jose said that the audit fulfilled all legal requirements, is correct and was sent to President Mejia. The audit revealed clear irregularities in the handling of public funds in connection with the operations of Plan Renove from 1 January 2002 to 12 April 2003, and showed irregularities in the purchasing, assignment and debt administration, as well as in the general management of the million-peso transport assistance program.
