The announcement comes as part of the Haitian airline&#8217;s plans to continue to expand to other destinations in the Caribbean. Sunrise is the first Haitian airline to obtain a permit for regular flights to the Dominican Republic. <\/p>\n<p>Upon making the announcement of the authorization for regular flights to Santo Domingo, Sunrise Airways president Philippe Bayard said: &#8220;We&#8217;ve taken another big step forward with this announcement, one that will have a significant impact on our ability to successfully grow our route network in the months to come&#8230; My hat goes off to our dedicated team whose commitment to excellence in every phase of our operations made this possible. We&#8217;re proving something that many would&#8217;ve likely thought impossible not long ago: that Haiti can produce a world-class airline,&#8221; as reported in Haiti Libre. <\/p>\n<p>The new Sunrise Airways regular service to Santo Domingo builds upon its scheduled operations between Port-au-Prince and Santiago de Cuba.
