The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reports a 50% reduction in traffic accidents over the 2014-2015 Christmas-New Year holiday. According to the COE, there were 47 deaths in traffic accidents, of which 32 involved motorcyclists, 68% of the cases. The victims were between the ages of 14 and 59. <\/p>\n

Over the holidays, there were 1,592 injuries in 516 traffic accidents in which 238 motorcyclists were involved, causing the highest number of deaths. <\/p>\n

COE director General Juan Manuel Mendez said that from 2pm on 30 December of 2014 to 6am on Thursday 1 January, 193 traffic accidents were reported, in which 115 motorcyclists were involved. <\/p>\n
