Attorney General Francisco Dominguez Brito has confirmed that he is waiting for the results from the commission set up to investigate a series of incidents in which drugs that had been confiscated from suspected traffickers disappeared from the Police Anti-narcotics Department (Dican). <\/p>\n
He said that the main priority now was to take whatever measures were necessary and finish as quickly as possible so that the actual prosecution can begin. <\/p>\n
When asked if he would take action against everyone who is involved without protecting anyone, Dominguez Brito said “totally”. <\/p>\n
The attorney general was being interviewed after leaving the office of the Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo yesterday, Tuesday 6 January 2015, and he reiterated that the case involving Dican is very sensitive, very serious and unfortunate, but they had to delve as deeply as possible.<\/p>\n
The Dican case involves the disappearance of 1,200 kilos of cocaine confiscated by law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n
