During an event, he used a derogatory term for gay people and expressed his opposition to same-sex marriages and said that if he returned to the Presidency he would not sign a same-sex marriage law. He said that his opinions were misinterpreted and that he has always respected differences and diversity. &#8220;If I am asked to sign a law to authorize same-sex marriage, I will not. Go forth and multiply, and one cannot multiply that way.
