Today’s Listin Diario, Thursday, 7 May 2015, publishes a long article by Coralis Orbe on the effects of the surveys of political preference by different polling companies. For example we have the question: “If the presidential elections were held today, who would you vote for?” Sociologist Fatima Torres explains that this question, as well as others, is necessary in order to apply them to the sample of the voting public to measure trends in politics. “Every candidate needs to handle numbers and information on how he or she is appreciated by the voters. This is why we have surveys. However, the results are circumstantial. A lot depends on what is happening at the moment of the survey since any event might change the perception of the people at any given moment.” She adds that in the three months before the elections there are few changes among the voters. <\/p>\n
