The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) is investigating the case of a 52-year old woman who admitted to being a drug mule and to swallowing 100 bags of cocaine, ten of which she expelled following treatment at the Armed Forces Hospital. <\/p>\n
The woman, who comes from Vicente Noble in the southwest of the country, called 911 at dawn and was taken to the Padre Billini hospital in Santo Domingo suffering from severe stomach pains. <\/p>\n
She told the medical staff that she had already expelled 90 out of 100 bags. The doctors carried out X-rays and found foreign bodies in her digestive tract, called the DNCD, and she was then taken to the Armed Forces hospital where she passed the remaining 10 bags. <\/p>\n
Later, the National Forensic Science Institute (INACIF) confirmed that analysis of the 10 packets showed that the drug was cocaine and in total weighed 109.3 grams. The whereabouts of the first 90 bags she said she had expelled before being taken to the hospital are unknown. DNCD is now continuing with the investigation to find who hired her to carry the drugs.<\/p>\n
