The Dominican Ambassador in Washington, D.C., Jose Tomas Perez held a meeting with US legislators Charles Rangel, New York, Maxine Waters, California, Yvette Clark, New York and Joe Kennedy III, Massachusetts yesterday, Tuesday 16 June 2015 to explain the issues linked to the regularization of foreigners in the DR. The meeting was held as the National Foreigner Legalization Plan, which offered fast-tracked free regularization to foreigners who had entered the country before October 2011, expires today, Wednesday 17 June 2015.<\/p>\n
Perez gave the legislators information on the implementation of the plan. Ambassador Perez has been meeting with White House officials, the Inter-American Dialogue, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committees. <\/p>\n
