All who have registered and had not finished submitting all of the documents will be able to complete it during this period and also obtain their ID documents.<\/p>\n<p> Fadul dismissed claims that the process has been a fiasco. He said that those who had warned that it would be a failure had presented figures that they could not back up. He commented that many of the strongest critics did not try to help people with irregular status to apply for the plan at any of the 27 regularization stations located nationwide. <\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;The reality is what is registered here. This is a census. The other numbers I don&#8217;t know where they get them, if they had them they should have brought these people who they knew existed,&#8221; said Fadul. He described the 18-month long process as &#8220;transparent, open to anyone who wanted to participate and open to the international community, the participation of the NGOs, the neighborhood associations, the country&#8217;s social organizations, the media and respectful of human dignity and human rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> As Fadul made these statements, several hundred Haitian immigrants gathered around the Interior and Police Ministry headquarters in the hope of being given the opportunity to benefit from the free registration and the grace period at the expiration of the plan. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minister of Interior and Police Jose Ramon Fadul says that some 275,000 foreign immigrants have now registered in the National Foreigner Legalization Plan (PNRE) that expired yesterday, Wednesday 17 June 2015.
