The leading mountain bike event of the year, the Eighth International Cycling Champions Mountain Bike Classic 2015 (VIII Clasico de Campeones Bicicentro) is being held in Puerto Plata on 3-4 October 2015. The event, with prizes worth more than RD$1 million, has the backing of UCI. It is a class 1 UCI event that means that winners accumulate points for the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike global ranking. <\/p>\n
In the past, the competition used to be held along Constanza’s mountain trails. It is the first time the event is being held in Puerto Plata. <\/p>\n
It is being organized by the Bicicentro bicycle store and Petroholding Sports. <\/p>\n
Competitors from 12 countries have registered – Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, Guadeloupe, Spain, St. Martin, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States. <\/p>\n
