The La Altagracia Maternity Hospital, the country’s main public gynecology and obstetrics facility, has a new team of obstetric gynecologists to improve their handling of obstetric emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n
Hospital director Dr. Joselyn Sanchez Parra said that they hope that these emergency specialists will help improve the quality of healthcare provided to the thousands of low-income women who use the hospital.<\/p>\n
ER head Dr. Jose Nicasio said that the specialists would be a great help to the residents who would now be able to quickly evaluate any emergency and help cut down on peri-natal mortality and any other type of complication that may arise.<\/p>\n
