Only plastic cards are being allowed, confirmed Leonel Carrasco of the Metro. Carrasco also announced that a new card is for sale with better security controls. He said the new measure would not affect most passengers, and estimated that more than 85% of Metro users travel with the refillable rides card. Over 250,000 commuters use the Metro every day.
