The day falls on Thursday 21 January and since the weekend visitor numbers to the Basilica in Higuey has been building up prior to several masses scheduled for Thursday, which President Danilo Medina is also expected to attend. <\/p>\n<p> The first mass is due to start at 5 am and the last one is at 6 pm. <\/p>\n<p> The holiday marks the start of the Altagracia Day and Duarte Day long weekend.
